Catherine Whittington Evans, 75, of 303 Dubois Ave. died at her home over the weekend following a short illness. A 1922 graduate of Crawfordsville High School, Mrs. Evans had retired from her position as a bookkeeper at Wabash College. She was a member of Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Crawfordsville Board of Zoning Appeals, the League of Women Voters and Creative Writers' Group. She was born Dec. 12, 1904, in Montgomery County, a daughter of Charles and Sarah Armantrout Whittington. She is survived by a son, the Rev. Donald H. Dinwiddie of Sans, Okla.; a brother, Richard A. Whittington of Mount Dora, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Walker of San Francisco, Mrs. Frances Hart of Glendora, Calif., and Miss Charlene Whittington of Ontario, Calif.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larimore Wickett officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Burkhart Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Donations may be made to Wabash Presbyterian Church. - kbz
